Cheesecake dress-up: Thaw a plain frozen cheesecake, arrange 1 cup sliced strawberries atop; drizzle 2 tablespoons melted currant jelly over berries.

Raspberry topper: Thaw one 12-ounce package loose-pack frozen red raspberries. Stir in 2 tablespoons amaretto or orange liqueur. Spoon over cheesecake.

Spicy citrus idea: Stir together 1/4 cup orange marmalade, 1 tablespoon orange juice, and 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger. Spoon over cheesecake.

Candy topped cheesecake: Spread 3 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping over cheesecake; drizzle with 1 teaspoon chocolate-flavored syrup. Draw tip of a spatula through syrup.

Easy but spectacular: Thaw a frozen pound cake. Slice horizontally in half. Spread softened cream cheese on bottom layer, then top with desired flavor of preserves. Replace top cake layer. Top with softened cream cheese and melted preserves.

Quick defrost: To thaw frozen whipped dessert topping for your pie in the microwave, microcook, uncovered, on 30% power (medium-low) till softened. Allow 45 to 60 seconds for one 4-ounce container and 1 to 1-1/2 minutes for one 8-ounce container.
