Baked White Beans

Baked White Beans
Ingredients
  • 4 15  ounce cans  cannellini beans (white kidney beans), rinsed and drained
  • 1 15  ounce can  tomato sauce
  • 1/2  cup  chopped onion (1 medium)
  • 1/4  cup  packed dark brown sugar
  • 3  tablespoons  balsamic vinegar
  • 4  cloves garlic, minced
  • 1  teaspoon  dried oregano, crushed
  • 1/2  teaspoon  dried rosemary, crushed
  •  Snipped fresh parsley (optional)
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl combine beans, tomato sauce, onion, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, oregano, and rosemary. Transfer mixture to an ungreased 2-quart square baking dish.

2. Bake, uncovered, about 45 minutes or until heated through, stirring once. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. If desired, garnish with parsley.

  • Prepare as directed in Step 1. Cover and chill for 2 to 48 hours. To serve, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake, uncovered, about 55 minutes or until heated through, stirring once.
