Garlic Bread with Chard

Yield: 16-20 slices
Prep 25 mins Bake 375°F 20 mins
Garlic Bread with Chard
Ingredients
  • 6 - 8  cups  coarsely chopped Swiss chard or spinach (about 6 to 8 ounces)
  • 2 - 3  tablespoons  olive oil
  • 2 1  pound loaves  ciabatta bread
  • 1/2  cup  butter, softened
  • 4 - 6  cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl toss chard with olive oil.

2. Cut each loaf in 8 to 10 slices, cutting to bottom but not through loaf. In a small bowl combine butter and garlic, lightly spread on bread slices. Spoon in chard mixture, mounding slightly. Wrap each loaf in foil. Place on large baking sheet.

3. Warm 20 minutes or until heated through. Unwrap and remound any chard that falls out as it is served. Makes 16 to 20 slices.
