Basic Smoothie

Makes: 2 servings

Basic Smoothie
Ingredients
  • 1 6  ounce carton  plain yogurt
  • 1/2  cup  orange juice or orange juice blend
  • 2  tablespoons  honey or sugar
  • 1/4  teaspoon  vanilla
  • 1  cup  small ice cubes or crushed ice
Directions

1. In a blender combine yogurt, orange juice, honey, vanilla, and ice cubes. Cover and blend until nearly smooth.

From the Test KitchenBanana-Blueberry Smoothie:
  • Prepare as above, except substitute blueberry yogurt for the plain yogurt and add 1/2 of a ripe banana and 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries.
Berry Smoothie:
  • Prepare as above, except add 1/2 cup halved fresh strawberries or fresh raspberries before blending.
Peanut Butter-Banana Smoothie:
  • Prepare as above, except substitute vanilla yogurt for the plain yogurt and milk for the orange juice, and add 1/2 of a ripe banana and 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter.
Orange Dream:
  • Prepare as above, except substitute orange yogurt for the plain yogurt and add 1/2 cup mandarin orange sections.
Peach Smoothie:
  • Prepare as above, except add 1 cup frozen peach slices and omit the ice.
