Honey-Mulled Apple Juice

Makes: 10 servings
Serving size: 8 ounce
Cook 5 hrs to 6 hrs  Low or High 2-1/2 to 3 hours
Honey-Mulled Apple Juice
  • 6  inches  stick cinnamon, broken
  • 1  teaspoon  whole allspice
  • 1  teaspoon  whole cloves
  • 10  cups  apple juice (2-1/2 quarts)
  • 1/3  cup  honey or packed brown sugar
  •  Cinnamon sticks (optional)

1. Tie broken stick cinnamon, allspice, and cloves in a spice bag. In a 3-1/2-, 4-, 5-, or 6-quart crockery cooker combine spice bag, apple juice, and honey or brown sugar.

2. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours or on high-heat setting for 2-1/2 to 3 hours.

3. Remove spice bag and discard. Serve in mugs with a cinnamon-stick stirrer, if desired. Makes 10 (8-ounce) servings.

From the Test KitchenFor 1-quart crockery cooker:
  • Use 2 inches stick cinnamon, broken; 1/4 teaspoon whole allspice; 1/4 teaspoon whole cloves; 3 cups apple juice; and 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar. Prepare as above. Cook for 3-1/2 to 4 hours. Serves 3.
