The wonderful thing about frittatas is you can tailor them to please many tastes.
- Be creative when making a frittata. Use the basic egg mixture, but branch out with other ingredients. Some of the options are cooked meat, poultry, seafood, cheeses, fresh and dried herbs, olives, garlic, and vegetables.
- Grate, shred, chop, or slice into bite-size pieces all ingredients, and drain well any ingredients that come in a juice or brine, such as olives. If you're using vegetables, you may want to precook items such as zucchini, carrots, potatoes, broccoli, or mushrooms.
- To add more flavor, substitute chicken, beef, or vegetable broth for the milk normally used to make a frittata. Add a topper, such as a spoonful of sour cream, salsa, or heated spaghetti sauce.
