Red Bartlett.

Red Bartlett. Firm, red, and juicy pear; very sweet when ripe. Available August through December.

Forelle.

Forelle. Slightly larger than a Seckel; freckled skin and red blush. Available October through February.

Comice.

Comice. Hard, green and rounder than a Bartlett, but similar in flavor and texture. Available August through March.

Seckel.

Seckel. A small firm, sweet pear; like a miniature Bosc. Available August through January.

Asian.

Asian. A light, crisp fruit with a flavor like a cross between an apple and a pear, and a texture similar to a water chestnut. Generally available year-round.

Bosc.

Bosc. Long-neck pear with golden brown skin; very juicy when ripe; softer than a Bartlett. Available August through May.

Anjou.

Anjou. Firm and green, even when ripe; great for eating or baking. Available October through June.

Bartlett. One of the most common pears, firm and bell-shaped; sometimes takes on a red blush. Available July through December.
