Tortilla Soup with Grilled Chicken

The soup is a slightly spicy tomato soup with chicken -- a dish everyone can agree on. Then the fun begins by each person garnishing it as desired, choosing from sour cream, cilantro, chopped onions, and the like.

Country Bread with Spiced Dipping Oil

Warm the loaf up in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small skillet over low heat toast chili powder, stirring, until the aroma hits you. Then add olive oil, swirling to mix.

Melon with Lime Slices

Serve lime wedges with melon. A spritz brings out the sweetness in the melon. Also if it's an orange melon, lime slices or wedges make a festive color statement.
