Prosciutto and Peas

ounce thinly sliced prosciutto or cooked ham

cup chopped onion

teaspoon olive oil or cooking oil

10 ounce package frozen peas

teaspoon instant chicken bouillon granules

teaspoon dried oregano, crushed, or 3/4 teaspoon snipped fresh oregano

Dash black pepper

tablespoons pine nuts or chopped pecans, toasted
Directions
1. Cut prosciutto into thin strips.
2. In a medium saucepan cook onion in hot oil until tender. Stir in peas, water, bouillon granules, dried oregano (if using), and pepper. Cover and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes or just until peas are tender. Stir in fresh oregano (if using) and toasted pine nuts. Makes 4 servings.
