Orange-Minted Peas

Ingredients

  • 2  cups shelled peas or one 10-ounce package frozen peas
  • 1/4  cup sliced green onion
  • 1  tablespoon snipped fresh mint
  • 1  teaspoon margarine or butter
  • 1/2  teaspoon finely shredded orange or lemon peel
  • 1/8  teaspoon salt
  • 1/8  teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8  teaspoon pepper

Directions

1. Cook fresh peas, covered, in a small amount of boiling water for 10 to 12 minutes or until crisp-tender. (Or, cook frozen peas according to package directions.) Drain.

2. Stir in green onion, mint, margarine or butter, orange or lemon peel, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Heat through, stirring to melt margarine or butter. Makes 4 side-dish servings.
