Garlic and Pepper Stir-Fry
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil or peanut oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups red, yellow, and/or green sweet peppers, cut into bite-size strips; carrot slices; and/or fresh pea pods (stems and ends removed)
- 1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
- 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
- Sesame seeds, toasted
Directions
1. In a small bowl stir together soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper; set aside. In a 12-inch skillet or wok heat cooking oil over high heat for 1 minute. Add garlic; cook and stir for 1 minute. Add sweet pepper and onion; cook and stir for 3 minutes. Add mushrooms; cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes more until vegetables are crisp-tender.
2. Add soy sauce mixture to skillet or wok. Cook and stir to coat vegetables. Transfer mixture to a serving dish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Makes 4 servings.
