Tartar Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1
    cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1/4
    cup finely chopped sweet pickle, finely chopped dill pickle, or drained sweet or dill pickle relish
  • 1
    tablespoon finely chopped green onion
  • 1
    tablespoon snipped fresh parsley
  • 1
    tablespoon diced pimiento
  • 1
    teaspoon lemon juice
Directions

In a small mixing bowl stir together mayonnaise or salad dressing, pickle, onion, parsley, pimiento, and lemon juice. Cover and chill in refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Serve with fish or seafood. Makes 1-1/4 cups.

  • Variation Low-Fat Tartar Sauce:Prepare as above, except substitute 2/3 cup light mayonnaise dressing or salad dressing and 1/3 cup plain yogurt for the mayonnaise or salad dressing. Omit lemon juice.
  • Make Ahead Tip Prepare as above. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
