Directions

The day before:

  1. In a large bowl combine sugar and 1/4 cup mint. Using the back of a wooden spoon, lightly crush mint by pressing it against the side of the bowl. Add 3 cups cold water, rum, raspberry juice concentrate, and lime juice, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a 1/2-gallon insulated jug. Cover and chill overnight.

Tailgate day:

  1. Tote juice mixture in the chilled jug. Tote carbonated water, ice cubes, and, if desired, raspberries, lime slices, and/or mint sprigs in an insulated cooler.
  2. At the tailgating site, slowly pour carbonated water down the side of the jug; stir gently. Half-fill 10-ounce glasses with ice cubes; add raspberries, lime slices, and/or mint sprigs. Fill glasses with juice mixture. Serve at once.
