Savory Ham and Bean Soup

15 ounce can navy or Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained

cups chopped cooked ham

teaspoon dried thyme or dried sage, crushed

teaspoon ground black pepper

teaspoon minced garlic

14 ounce can reduced-sodium chicken broth

cups water
Directions
In a Dutch oven combine drained beans, ham, onion, celery, thyme, pepper, and garlic. Stir in chicken broth and water. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Makes 8 servings.

- Make Ahead Tip Prepare as directed. Transfer to a storage container; cover. Chill for up to 48 hours. To serve, return soup to a Dutch oven; cook over medium heat until heated through.

The only thing about this recipe was that I cooked it over medium heat to ensure that the veggies were tender. Other than that, my husband and I loved this recipe! It is a keeper and we will definitely make it again.
