Mock Pork Sausage

Ingredients

ounces lean ground turkey

ounces ground pork

teaspoon dried sage
1/2
teaspoon cumin seed, lightly toasted
1/2
teaspoon garlic powder*
1/2
teaspoon onion powder*
1/2
teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4
teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4
teaspoon dried oregano

Nonstick olive oil spray

Directions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients except olive oil spray in a large bowl. Form the mixture into six 3-to-4-inch diameter patties. Lightly coat a 12-inch nonstick skillet with nonstick spray and heat the pan over medium heat. Brown the patties on both sides, about 4 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Serve hot.

You can substitute 4 fresh minced garlic cloves and 1/3 cup finely diced yellow onion for the garlic and onion powders.
