8 ounce package cream cheese, cut up
cups shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese (8 ounces)
cups chopped sweet onions (such as Vidalia or Walla Walla) (2 large)
cup dry white wine or chicken broth
tablespoons honey mustard
Honey mustard (optional)
- In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker, combine ham, cream cheese, Swiss cheese, onions, wine, and the 2 tablespoons honey mustard.
- Cover and cook on high-heat setting for 1 to 2 hours or until cheeses are melted, stirring after 1 hour. Serve immediately or keep warm, covered, on warm setting or low-heat setting for up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with toast points and, if desired, additional honey mustard for drizzling.
From the Test Kitchen
If you'd like to dress up the toast points, preheat broiler. Spread bread slices with melted butter; sprinkle with snipped fresh chives. Broil about 5 inches from heat until golden brown. Cut toasted bread into small triangles.
