Upside-Down Pizza Casserole
Ingredients

pounds lean ground beef

15 ounce can Italian-style tomato sauce

cups shredded mozzarella cheese (6 ounces)

10 ounce package refrigerated biscuits (10 biscuits)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a large skillet cook beef until no longer pink, stirring frequently. Drain off fat. Stir in tomato sauce; heat through. Transfer mixture to a 2-quart rectangular baking dish. Sprinkle mixture with cheese.
2. Flatten each biscuit with your hands; arrange the biscuits on top of the cheese. Bake in the preheated oven about 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden. Makes 5 servings.

1/30/2012 01:16:35 PM Report AbuseI brought this to a party at work. I added 1/4 cup of additional mozzarella cheese to the top of the biscuits for more flavor. I also added some bruscetta with garlic to the pizza sauce to give it a kick! Yes, I substituted pizza sauce for the tomato sauce that it calls for which made it a perfect appetizer for a second or third helping party pleaser!

3/22/2010 02:29:01 AM Report AbuseI embellished this dish a little by adding pepperoni, mushrooms & black olives. i also substituted the bisquits with pizza crust....my family loved it and you can add any pizza favorites you want!!!!
3/1/2010 07:11:59 PM Report Abusewas a total hit! really fast and easy! Next time I will add some other "pizza" ingredients like bell peppers and mushrooms. I used the pillsbury pizza dough cut into strips and that worked great.
