Fresh Mexican Salad Pizza

Directions

  1. Preheat oven according to pizza shell package directions. In a medium bowl mash beans, the 3 tablespoons salsa, and the taco seasoning mix with a potato masher or fork. Spread bean mixture over bread shell. Sprinkle with cheese. Place directly on oven rack and bake according to pizza shell package directions (about 10 minutes). Cool slightly.
  2. Sprinkle pizza with lettuce. Top with avocado, jicama, mango, sweet pepper, red onion, cilantro, and, if desired, jalapeno pepper. Cut into wedges. If desired, serve with additional salsa.

*Tip:

Because chile peppers contain volatile oils that can burn your skin and eyes, avoid direct contact with them as much as possible. When working with chile peppers, wear plastic or rubber gloves. If your bare hands do touch the peppers, wash your hands and nails well with soap and warm water.
