Ingredients
  • 2 ounces  Sazerac Rye Whiskey (1/4 cup)
  • 1/4 ounce  Simple Syrup (1 tablespoon)
  • 2 Peychaud's Bitters
  • 2 Angustora Bitters
  • Herbsaint (anise-flavored liquor)
  • Lemon twist
Directions

1. In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine first four ingredients; stir to combine. Rinse a chilled rocks glass with Herbsaint. Pour shaker contents into glass, add ice (if desired), and garnish with a lemon twist.

Simple Syrup

Yield: about 1/3 cup
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup  sugar
  • 1/4 cup  water
Directions

1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring just to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cool; cover and chill at least 1 hour before using.
