Hot Chocolate



  1. In a medium saucepan combine chocolate, sugar, and 1/2 cup of the milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture just comes to boiling. Stir in remaining milk; heat through. Do not boil.
  2. Remove from heat. If desired, beat milk mixture with a rotary beater until frothy. Makes 6 (about 6-ounce) servings.

Mexican Hot Chocolate

Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and a pinch of cayenne pepper with the remaining milk. Serve with long cinnamon sticks.

Rasberry Hot Chocolate

Stir in 1 tablespoon of raspberry liqueur to each mug. Serve with a skewer of fresh raspberries, if desired.

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Stir 1 tablespoon caramel sauce to each serving. Sprinkle with flaked sea salt. Top with marshmallows and additional caramel sauce.

Bourbon-Bacon Hot Chocolate

Stir 1 tablespoon bourbon or whiskey into each serving. Garnish with a bacon skewer.
