Plum Fruit Sauce
cups sliced plums
- Mix the plums and sugar in a small saucepan; cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the plums are tender and sauce is slightly thickened, about 8 minutes*. Remove from heat and let cool, then refrigerate until cold before using. Makes 4 servings (about 1 to 1-1/2 cups).

For a slightly thicker syrup, remove plums with slotted spoon. Boil syrup gently, uncovered, for about 3 minutes. Return to syrup.
