Chocolate Delight Pie
ingredients

    12-ounce package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2
    cup fat-free milk
  • 1
    8-ounce package reduced-fat cream cheese (Neufch¿tel), softened
  • 1/3
    cup sugar
  • 1
    8-ounce container frozen light whipped dessert topping, thawed
  • 1
    chocolate-flavored crumb pie shell*
  • 1
    teaspoon shortening

1. In a heavy, small saucepan, combine 1-3/4 cups of the chocolate pieces and 1/4 cup of the milk; heat and stir over low heat until chocolate pieces are melted. Remove from heat. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light. Gradually beat in melted chocolate mixture and remaining milk. Fold in whipped topping.

2. Spoon into pie shell. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm. To serve, let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. In a heavy, small saucepan, combine remaining chocolate pieces and the shortening; heat and stir over low heat until melted. Drizzle over pie. Makes 8 servings.

*Test Kitchen Tip: If you prefer, substitute your favorite 9-inch baked pastry shell or cookie piecrust for the purchased chocolate-flavored crumb pie shell.
