Bite-Size Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients
  • 1/2
    cup butter, softened
  • 1/3
    cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4
    cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4
    teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2
    teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2
    teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4
    teaspoon salt
  • 1/8
    teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1
    egg
  • 1
    teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4
    cup all-purpose flour
  • 1
    cup quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2
    cup miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/3
    cup chopped dried fruit such as dried cranberries, dried tart cherries, or dried blueberries
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In mixing bowl beat butter with electric mixer on medium speed 30 seconds. Beat in sugars, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, salt, and allspice. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in flour and oats. Stir in chocolate pieces and dried fruit.

2. Drop cookies by small spoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until cookies are golden. Transfer to rack; cool. Makes 48.
