I've made a similar cake for years called Crazy Chocolate Cake, the differences are-3/4 cup oil and 2 tbsp. vinegar. Sift dry ingredients into a 9 X 13' pan, add the oil, vinegar and vanilla. Pour the water over it all and mix with a fork until smooth. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. I use Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa and also frost with their recipe frosting. Easy and great, Inever bring any home from a potluck.

This cake did not turn out how I thought it would......When I took the cake out of the and I tried it the only thing that I tasted was flour. If you were to make this recipe I suggest that you decrease the flour by one cup and instead of adding just half a cup of unsweetened cocoa add 1 cup of cocoa. It might turn out slightly better but I did not enjoy this cake I think I will continue looking for a good recipe....

I cooked this for 10 mins longer than suggested and the middle was still runny. It tasted nice, is it meant to have a creamy constitancy in the middle, it was almost like a fudge brownie.
