Herb-Pepper Sirloin Steak
teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
dash garlic powder
dash ground cardamon (optional)
1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak, cut 1 inch thick
- Preheat indoor electric grill. In a small bowl stir together ketchup, rosemary, basil, pepper, garlic powder, and, if desired, cardamon. Trim fat from steak. Coat both sides of steak with ketchup mixture.
- Place steak on the grill rack. If using a covered grill, close lid. Grill until steak is desired doneness. For a covered grill, allow 5 to 7 minutes for medium-rare or 7 to 9 minutes for medium. For an uncovered grill, allow 12 to 15 minutes for medium-rare or 15 to 18 minutes for medium, turning once halfway through grilling. To serve, cut into four equal pieces. Makes 4 servings.
