I thought it was good, but pretty bland. When I make it I use the following substitutions. Use 2 lbs. ground beef, fresh basil instead of dry to taste, 2 tsp. Italian seasoning instead of oregano, 1 cup red wine, 1/4 tsp sugar, Great Value brand frozen 5 cheese ravioli (25 oz bag), Great Value brand shredded Italian Style cheese instead of Parmesan & mozzarella. Cover and simmer 40 minutes before stirring ravioli into mixture. Delicious!
3/27/2012 09:00:03 PM Report AbuseMade this meal exactly as stated with no substitutions. Not bad, however it could have used a little more salt to bring out more flavor. My husband liked it but suggested using a little "heat" next time and possibly even some "smoke" flavor. This could be with a drop or two of "liquid smoke" or maybe even some smoked mozzarella cheese instead of plain. Not bad, but I usually need at least 3 out of 4 in my family saying it was a keeper for me to add it to my receipes.

1/18/2012 07:24:02 AM Report AbuseI made this tonight and everybody went back for seconds, including my 10 year old very picky grandson. I will definitely make this again.
