Swiss Cheese-Cherry Spread
Ingredients
  • 3
    cups shredded Swiss cheese (12 ounces)
  • 1/4
    cup margarine or butter
  • 1/2
    cup dried tart red cherries, snipped if desired
  • Boiling water
  • 1/2
    cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 2
    teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
  • 1/2
    cup finely chopped green onions
  • Assorted crackers
Directions

1. Bring cheese and margarine or butter to room temperature. Meanwhile, cover cherries with boiling water and let stand 10 minutes. Drain well; pat cherries dry with paper towels and set aside.

2. In a food processor bowl place cheese, margarine or butter, mayonnaise or salad dressing, and mustard. Cover and process until combined. Stir in cherries and green onions; cover and refrigerate up to 3 days. Serve with crackers.
