Spicy Snack Mix
Ingredients
  • 8
    cups bite-size shredded wheat biscuits
  • 3
    cups broken bagel chips or mini bagel chips
  • 2
    cups peanuts
  • 2
    cups cashews
  • 2
    cups whole almonds
  • 1/2
    cup butter, melted
  • 1/4
    cup lime juice
  • 2
    teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 - 2
    teaspoons ground ancho chile pepper or chili powder
  • 1/4
    teaspoon onion salt
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. In a 17x12x2-inch roasting pan, stir together shredded wheat biscuits, bagel chips, peanuts, cashews, and almonds. Set aside.

2. In a bowl, stir together butter, lime juice, garlic salt, ancho chile pepper, and onion salt. Pour over cereal mixture; toss to coat.

3. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring twice. Remove from oven. Spread mixture on a large piece of foil to cool. Transfer snack mix to gift container; cover with plastic wrap.
