Peppermint Sticks
Ingredients

ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped

teaspoon shortening

cup pecans or your favorite nuts, chopped

3 - 4 inches soft peppermint sticks
Directions
1. In a small saucepan combine chocolate and shortening; cook over low heat just until melted. Transfer to a bowl. Place pecans on waxed paper.
2. Dip one end of each peppermint stick into melted chocolate and then roll in chopped nuts. Place on waxed paper; let stand until set. Wrap each individually to give as a gift. Makes 16 gifts.

super easy...dip 'em in CANDIQUIK...even stir these in coffee or hot chocolate (maybe leave out the nuts then...)
12/21/2010 02:12:44 PM Report AbuseYou can get the soft sticks at Wal-mart. The Brand name is "Bob's". This year they are packaged in a small box about the size of a deck of cards. They are very reasonably priced, too.
