Lemon-Basil Cheese Ball
Ingredients

    8 ounce carton mascarpone cheese
  • 1
    cup shredded Gruyere cheese (4 ounces)
  • 3
    tablespoons finely chopped pistachio nuts
  • 2
    tablespoons finely snipped fresh basil
  • 4
    teaspoons finely shredded lemon peel
  • 1/8
    teaspoon pepper
Directions

1. In a mixing bowl beat mascarpone with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Stir in Gruyere. Stir in pistachios, basil, lemon peel, and pepper.

2. Line a 2-cup bowl with plastic wrap. Transfer cheese mixture to bowl; cover and chill 3 hours or until firm. (Can be refrigerated up to 3 days.) To serve, unmold onto a serving plate; remove plastic wrap. Makes 24 servings.

  • Tip To Present This Gift... On the cutting board, cut thin slices of lemon. Line the pedestal candle holder with parchment paper. Arrange the slices around the edge of the parchment paper. Unmold the cheese ball onto the center of the lemon ring; remove plastic wrap. Garnish with a basil sprig.
