  • Tip To Present This Gift... In the center of the jar lid, drill a hole large enough to accommodate the bolt. In a well-ventilated work area, spray-paint the outside of the lid silver-blue. Let dry. From the bottom, push the bolt through the hole in the center of the lid. Place the nut on the bolt, screwing on tightly to secure. The bolt will be sticking out the top of the lid. Form a small snowman, approximately 3 inches tall, from three balls of clay. Press over the stove bolt. To form the hat, first make a flat brim approximately the size of a quarter. Add the hat top. Press together and press on top of the snowmans head. Make a tiny carrot-shape nose from the clay. Break a 1-inch piece off the end of a toothpick. Press the opposite end of the toothpick into the snowmans face. Use scissors to cut slits down the wide ends of two toothpicks. Press into the snowman for arms. Let the clay dry. Paint the hat black. Paint the nose orange. Paint the arms with a mix of white and black. To make the eyes, mouth, and buttons, dip the handle end of a paintbrush into paint and dot onto the surface. Let the paint dry. Tie a narrow ribbon around the snowman for the scarf. Paint the snowman with glitter glaze. Tie a generous ribbon bow around the top of the jar. Trim ribbon ends. Use plastic wrap to cover topping to protect it from the spray-painted lid.
