Chili Nut Honey with Cheese
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne), 1/4 teaspoon ground chipotle chili pepper, or 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
ounces soft pungent cheese (fresh goat cheese or blue cheese)
Crusty bread or crackers
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In shallow baking pan toast walnuts for 10 to 12 minutes, just until they start to brown and become aromatic. Cool slightly; chop coarsely.
- In a bowl, stir together nuts, honey, and ground red pepper.
- To serve, bring cheese to room temperature. Serve with honey mixture and crusty bread. Makes 4 servings.
