Chili Nut Honey with Cheese
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup walnuts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne), 1/4 teaspoon ground chipotle chili pepper, or 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 4 ounces soft pungent cheese (fresh goat cheese or blue cheese)
- Crusty bread or crackers
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In shallow baking pan toast walnuts for 10 to 12 minutes, just until they start to brown and become aromatic. Cool slightly; chop coarsely.
2. In a bowl, stir together nuts, honey, and ground red pepper.
3. To serve, bring cheese to room temperature. Serve with honey mixture and crusty bread. Makes 4 servings.
