Twenty years ago, the Roosevelt Elementary School in Perry, Iowa was being demolished. We rescued this built-in cabinet that was used by the teachers in the class room.
This was the only one that had not yet been demolished.
We had to pry it from the wall and carry it down from the second floor of the school.
My husband built a new end on the right side and he then put wheels on the bottom so it could be moved if needed. It was then painted to match our kitchen.
The door on the left is where the teacher would have hung her coat and hat. This space was re-purposed by my husband by adding shelves for my pots and pans. The rest of the cabinet is used for dishes and small appliances.
This was a big help for my limited kitchen space. It is not fancy, but very useful.
