This bench was one of three that I made for one family that had frames of their own. Two were Christmas presents for their married daughters, and the third was for themselves. I had the frames blasted, and then purposely caused them to rust before spraying a clear coat. It appears dark, because it IS. I feared they would not like them, but they LOVED them! They also provided the barn boards, which was from a barn that they'd torn down. Since the materials had been in the family, they had extra special meaning for both them, and myself. This is the most gratifying for me, to make a bench that has already been an heirloom, and will continue to be for many years.

I want to do this with the crib my parents used for all 6 of us kids. I love what you did and thank you for such a wonderful idea for a family heirloom.
