The bed is to the right as you enter the room (this photo is taken from opposite the door) and is up on a 3 foot pedestal, which puts it right under the eaves! There's plenty of room around it, though - 4 feet on the left and 3 feet on the right. There's a hope chest at the foot of it for storage (and as an attempt at style.) The corners of the room would look fabulous with moulding and trim - it could have some real charm with a bit of help. The eaves are 4.5 feet from the floor, leaving room for a real headboard if the bed stays in this position. The wall on the right of the bed is straight and plain, measuring 9 feet 3 inches from the corner pictured here to the doorway. |
