Pretty Homemade Cards: Stitch On Beads
Upgrade plain-Jane cards with a shimmery border made with silver beads and some basic sewing skills. We can help!
[MUSIC] Diamond beaded cards. You'll need: Button and craft thread, cards and envelopes, scissors, cardboard, large and small needles, T-pin, bugle beads. Working over cardboard, poke holes in a diamond shape around the outside edges of the card. The distance between each hole should be a bit larger than the length of your bead. Cut two long pieces of thread. Thread the larger needle with both strands of thread. Thread through the first hole. Remove needle. Knot both strands. Separate the stands. Switch to a thin needle that fits the beads. Backstich to the next hole, thread a bead on, and stitch back through the first hole. Continue in this pattern down one side of the diamond pattern. Once finished with one side, let that end of the string hang, and thread the second strand. Backstitch down the other side of the diamond pattern to meet the first stand. Knot the two strands and trim off excess.
