Kitchen Cabinet Makeover: Embellished Cottage Cabinets

Give your kitchen cabinets a new cottage look with wood appliques and an easy distressing technique.

What You Need:

Semi-gloss acrylic

Paintbrushes

Gingerbread cutouts

Cream paint

Wood glue

Burnt umber glaze

Step-by-Step:

1. Paint cabinets with semigloss acrylic paint (we used two coats).

2. Using wood glue, adhere cream-painted cutouts to the corners and center of the cabinet door.

3. Using an old brush, apply water-base glaze over the entire cabinet surface.

4. Rub the glaze with a rag, working it in to create the desired effect.
