Nicole: The 48-Hour Challenge
Five of our favorite bloggers created clever weekend projects for outdoor living using $500 in materials from The Home Depot. Nicole's blog is Making it Lovely, and here is the story of her project.
Post 1: Meet the Designer
Hi. My name is Nicole Balch, and I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about my home. I dream about the things I would do with an unlimited budget, and I think about the things I can do with just a little bit of money and a little bit of work.
I've always been a hands-on, DIY kind of gal. Even now at nine months pregnant, you'll still find me switching things around and making little changes here and there in my house, though I admit that I have slowed down a bit these days! I chronicle all of my projects on my blog, Making it Lovely, and I'm excited to be taking on the 48-Hour Challenge.
I often create mockups and mood boards on Making it Lovely. It's sort of my version of window-shopping. It helps me gather my thoughts, and I get to daydream and plan different looks for various rooms before I spend a cent. I'll be working on my front porch for this challenge, creating a small dining area and a spot for lounging. I've already planned everything out with graph paper and a digital mood board that I can't wait to share with you!
