1. Shorten 4 new or vintage wood hangers, cutting a straight edge that will fit tight against a backer board. We used a 1-4-30-inch varnished maple plank.
2. Attach the shortened hangers to the board by screwing them in from behind.
3. Add heavy-duty picture hangers to the back of the board so you can mount the unit on the wall.
