About this Project

A simple-looking shelf unit can be a surprisingly complex project. For example, middle shelves usually are slightly shorter than the bottom and top pieces. If joints are off as little as 1/16 inch, the whole unit may look shoddy. Even getting perfectly straight cuts can be difficult, especially if the boards are warped or bowed. But when the end result is a unit custom-made for your space, it's worth the effort. Here's how to build a dadoed shelf unit.
