Walk-In: For the Girls

Large drawers pack lots of storage capacity, but they can get messy fast. Use drawer organizers to keep stacks from sliding. And place clothing strategically in drawers -- the accessible top spot should be reserved for items worn daily.


Removing one of the shelves opened up space to lean a small wall mirror (ideal for trying on jewelry) and display a few personal mementos. It's also the perfect spot to store perfume because your closet is a cool, dry place, and you can easily spritz it on while getting dressed.


A 4-x-5-foot mirror, cut at a local glass shop, transforms the back part of the walk-in closet into a dressing room complete with a shoe bench to try on heels.
