Helpful Information

For wallpaper borders, simply measure the length needed and divide by the footage of the border roll to determine the number of rolls. This estimator will help you assess how much wallpaper you'll need.

A single "American" roll covers 36 square feet, while a single "European" roll covers 25 square feet. "Double" rolls cover twice the area. In this calculator, we count an American roll as 30 square feet and a European roll as 18 square feet, to account for waste.

A few tips: Wallpaper with a "straight" pattern is easy to install and has limited waste. When installing wallpaper with a "dropped pattern," you must align adjacent panels vertically, which takes more time and produces more waste.

Buy a roll or two more than you think you'll need, in case you make a mistake. Otherwise, if you purchase new rolls, they may not be from the same dye lot.
