Vinyl Sheet Flooring
Calculate the amount of vinyl flooring (also known as resilient flooring) you'll need.
Important reminder: Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this calculation. But before purchasing materials for any project, please check amounts with your suppliers or contractors.
- Vinyl sheet flooring comes in rolls that are either 6 or 12 feet wide. Seams are often difficult to make and may come apart in the future. So, plan the installation to avoid seams, even if that means buying more flooring than you need. (For instance, if a room is only 8 feet wide, it is usually best to buy 12-foot-wide flooring, even though you will waste 4 feet.)
- Sheet flooring is sold by the square yard. One linear foot of 6-foot-wide flooring equals 2/3 square yard; one linear foot of 12-foot-wide flooring equals 1-1/3 square yard.
