This rail design, called Chinese-Chippendale, is popular in the South. Since it was unavailable at home centers where this house is located, a contractor custom-built it.
Local building and safety codes were adhered to, and unique decorative touches such as the ball-capped finials were added to rail posts.
In contrast to this home's classic-design structure, the metal railings on its deck and stairs bring a new-millennium feel to the home's outdoor spaces.
