Weathersealing Underneath Doors

Introduction

A door's bottom edge poses two weather-stripping problems. First, the threshold has to withstand lots of traffic. Second, any seal attached to the door must clear carpeting or other uneven floor spots within the arc that the door traverses.

The devices shown in this article solve these difficulties with varying degrees of effectiveness. If your door has a badly worn threshold, consider replacing it with a metal or wooden one.
