Plugging Hidden Air Leaks in Your Home

Prev  1 2 3 (of 4)  Next

About this Project

You would never think of leaving a window open in the winter -- unless someone else was paying the heating bill. Yet, the total of all of the miniscule cracks and holes in the floors, walls, and ceilings of the average older home is equivalent to an area of 2 square feet.

House doctors -- technicians who specialize in finding and sealing such cracks -- call these hidden heat leaks; hidden, because we never seem to see them. The occur in and around walls, through ductwork openings, and even around electrical fixtures.

Click to the next page to start sleuthing for the hidden air leaks in your home.
