Sink Savvy
Pick the right sink for your needs.
Bowl configurations
Think about how you cook and clean when choosing the number and size of bowls for your sink. You may want to consider two sinks -- one for clean up and one for food preparation. Your options include:
- Standard sink with two identical bowls (each usually 13 inches wide and 8 inches deep)

- Double-bowl sinks with one extra-deep (10-inch) side for scrubbing pots and one small side (6 or 7 inches deep) for food preparation.

- Three-bowl sinks with two large bowls on the sides and a small food-preparation sink in the center.
- Farm sinks with one large rectangular bowl are popular choices for country kitchens.
- Options available with some styles include built-in draining boards, colanders, dish drainers, and even garbage chutes.
