Great ideas. If my cabinets are stained in Ash and I have door trims and chair railing in Ash would I still be able to paint my cabinets White?
2/7/2010 10:00:35 AM Report Abuseyes; please someone answer if you have to strip down the old brown varnish and lacquer before painting the cabinets. I like the look of the black ones with the brown from underneath showing through a little bit.

2/4/2010 08:51:24 PM Report AbuseIf you use melamine paint (best for kitchens anyway) you will find chipping isn't too much of a problem. I'm surprised melamine paint is not mentioned in this slide show.
