Cabinet Makeover: Molding Metamorphosis

If you think your kitchen cabinets are beyond repair, don't despair. With a little creativity and elbow grease, you can revive the face of almost any cabinet door.

How To
  1. Sand the door, wipe with a cloth, clean with sodium triphosphate solution, and apply a stain-blocking primer.
  2. When the surface is dry, paint the door and molding, which has been cut to size, with semigloss latex paint.
  3. Using a pin nailer, apply trim molding to the outside edge of the door's raised panel. No access to a pin nailer? Use wood glue to attach the molding, holding it in place temporarily with masking tape while the glue dries.
  4. Fill the small nail holes with a surfacing compound, sand rough spots, and touch up paint.
