If possible, work from below to
fix stair squeaks.

About This Project

Most staircase squeaks result from a tread rubbing against the top or bottom of a riser or stringer. To locate the problem, rock back and forth on each tread. If the tread moves, it's time to take corrective action.

Note: Although you can fix stair problems from above, it is generally preferable to work from below.
